The Department of Sport Management's Research Seminar Series is pleased to announce its next speaker.

On Friday, November 14 (9:30-11:00AM; SOM 128), Professor Neil Longley of The UMass Sport Management department will present a paper entitled:

"The Impacts of Coworker Heterogeneity on Firm-Level Productivity: Assessing the Impacts of Cultural and Language Diversity in the National Hockey League"

The paper is co-authored with Rob Simmons, Lancaster University (UK) Business School, and; Leo Kahane, California State University-East Bay and Editor, Journal of Sports Economics.

Dr. Longley's current research interests pertain primarily to studying labor economics issues in sport. He has published a wide variety of articles -- relating to both sport and non-sport -- in such journals as Atlantic Economic Journal, Journal of Business and Economic Studies, The Social Science Journal, American Journal of Economics and Sociology, Columbia Journal of World Business, Contemporary Economic Policy, and Public Choice.
